In recent years, I has not special occasion.
ReplyDeleteWhen my grandmother's birthday, we come together once home the house of my grandmother.
Their families gathered, ate chicken and duck dishes.
Grandchildren rose, and sang a birthday song.
There was not a formal position.
I'm not wearing a suit, wore street clothes.
I had been was a military at last year.
So I was glad to meet relatives.
Relatives also were soon to enter the army.
I gave encourage a relatives.
However, i'm broke my heart when I think my brother is going to the army as soon.

recently I attended a birthday party for my nephew.
She is the daughter of my sister. and Her name is jyoung-hyun Park was five years old this year.
Her birthday party took part in the family and relatives.
And The house was filled with many gifts and food.
her favorite toys, dolls and fairy tales, chiken dish,Mixed dish,etc.
So she was very nice, showed us a lot of talent(Learned in kindergarten dancing, singing, charming)as wearing cone hat
also family and relatives laughed at this scene.
Atmosphere was held to a very friendly talk and Ate more food.
I tender the shape of the family. or I was able to laugh together.

ReplyDeleteA family event that I recently attended is my cousin's wedding ceremony. In there, I have met a new cousin that I have never met. So, I was strained. And I met aunts and uncle that I sometimes met after entering university.
My cousin is a little more handsome than me.
So he is very very handsome on that day. He is a public servant. And his wife is a high school teacher. So I envied their economic stabilization. In there, students of my cousin's wife sang a congraturation song and my cousin bowed deeply his wife's mother. That looked funny but structive event. Nowadays most wedding ceremony's menu is buffet. So I eat many kinds of foods. A traditional menu is korean party noodle. And because I don't have a complete suit. So I weared a clean clothes. Very good

ReplyDeleteRecent event is grandmother's funeral.
We rushed hospital upon receiving the news that my grandmother was dying.
I was so sad that my grandmother died on me.
Grandmother lay in a bed of sickness for many years before she died.
She had diabetes and dementia.
She lived in a nursing home with grandfather in a sickroom.
Entered the university, I went to a nursing home to visit my grandparents every week.
When we saw dying grandmother, My mother, All relative and grandfather wailed.
We watched the funeral cortege.
Many visitors came to funeral parlor.
I participated in a wake for three days.
And I assisted to carry food and clean the table and many chore.
I ate Yookgaejang and same side dishes every meal. That tasted good.
After two months, It is sad day my grandmother has passed since one-year.
I want to meet my grandmother again,
My grandmother must be happy looking down the good living from heaven.

Whenever I see wedding ceremonies, I feel beautiful and wonderful about them.
She wore a wedding dress and Hanbok.

She was very beautiful and, her husband was so handsome.
They were married in a buffet restaurant.
I ate many delicious foods there.
I had meat, fruits, and noodles.
My most memorable food was yukhoe. Yukhoe is a korean-style raw beef.
The wedding was very funny because his friends were kidding, presiding over the ceremony.

May 7 was my birthday and May 8 was Parents' Day.
My family wanted to celebrate those day.
So we went to 부안 because that place is near by sea and many restaurants sell the slices of raw fish.
My parents really like that food so we went there and ate it.
After ate that food, We went to fine view of pension(similar to hotel).
Then we make some pancake and displayed fireworks. Fireworks were really nice because only ny family looked at it and enjoyed it.
so I can't forget that day.

ReplyDeleteI attended my cousin brother's wedding. Then, I saw just opening of the wedding. When my cousin brother entered wedding hall with his wife, I went to buffet. Because officiant's message is very boring. And I met my another cousin brother at buffet. Then, I said just "Hello.", and only ate many foods. I ate steak, sushi, and many fruits like watermelon and tropical fruits. I thought that there are also many foods on buffet. They were very delicious. So, I like to go to wedding. And I am not child. So, I must wear a suit. But I don't have a suit. So, I just wore y-shirts, and black pants. Other people wore also a suit or dress.

ReplyDeleteI have recently attended wedding ceremony for my senior man who graduated from the same university. whenever I attend that kinds of event like wedding, It always feels like I want to get married. It was so great chance to meet other senior and junior people. It had been nearly 2~5 years since we last met each other, so we were so delighted to make conversation together. After the wedding, I enjoyed buffet, so I had a variety of sea food for lunch. During the event, I took pictures of me and friends, saw the performance that groom did. I wore suit and my friends wore suit as well, because they are expected to wear formal clothes in Korea when they participate in those events. I had a lot of fun and it was interesting.

Even though we both are the only child of our families but we are as intimate as related sisters. When she found her happiness, I would feel happier than her.
We arrived at her house at 6 a.m. that day and from then on, many ceremonies would be held for the new couple. Such as finding one of bride’s shoes, serving tea for their parents and so on.
Our families witnessed those extremely wonderful moments. Of course, I also had a very good time with my sister‘s friends and my brother-in-law’s family and his friends. And there were so many kinds of delicious food that I even didn’t know how to choose. This was very precious memory that I cherish and I wish nothing but the best for her.

but I don't meet family since 2012.3 because I don't go home.
So I write the story I experienced to wedding.
This happened when my cousin got married. My cousin was so beatiful and I surprised. I met many cousins and various people. I talked their and laugh. They were flawlessly dressed.
However people concentrated the groom's father hair style. because his hair style is very long and colorful. so people was so laugh.
I think he is very unique and I never act him.
After the wedding, I had lunch with my family talking about the groom's father. My eyes turned to him while eating delicious food.

ReplyDeleteRecently, I went to hospital to see grandfather. It was kind of family meeting because every relatives came to let our grandfather take a walk in the arboretum. My grandfather is too old to walk and speak. And my mother said that It might be the last chance to go out for grandfather. Even if I also go out for having fun with family at that time, It was not happy but rather pity. And I had something special food that you probably have not ate. I ate small alive octopuses with pepper source. It was first time for me. It was a bit disgusting but I tried. It was good enough. If I have a chance later to eat alive octopus again, It has to be better cut alive octopus into pieces.

ReplyDeleteIn this year, my youngest sister was entrance into an elementary school. we are fifteenth years apart. so last year my youngest sister went to kindergarten.
All family participated in an entrance ceemony. I came to elementary school for a long time after graduation. I thought my childhood and wanted to go my school.
My grandmather bought a bunch of flowers to celebate her entrance ceremony.
there were children that seemed like a miniature doll. she attached a name tag and the youngest sister and mom were waiting in a long line at school playground,holind hands. we watched that her a tense look. we felt her just cute. I took a picture that happiness moment. she met a kindergarten friends. some friends of them were in the same class. her homroom teacher looked kind and friendly I think.
After ceremony, we ate jajangmyeon and sweet and sour pork. this memory remained best to me.

Last Sunday was my mom's birthday.
I didn't have enough money to buy her a present so I got money from my dad and bought a tumbler. It was a little bit expensive because it's brand was Starbucks.
We had a birthday party with our family including my aunts and relatives at my aunt's food restaurant.
She is managing the roast duck restaurant. I was very happy as my mom was feeling very good. I ate a lot because I heard that the roast duck is a diet food.
My aunt brought a cake so we sang a birthday song.
All my relatives gave their presents for my mom and she loved all things.
Eventhough my mom is 50 years old, she felt thankful for us.

ReplyDeleteLast month. I met many relatives on my mother's side. in detail, only women, aunts and grandma. I have many relatives on my mother's side, 6 aunts and 4 uncles.
So They ( only aunts, sometimes with men:)) have a meeting once a month. I also attend the meeting sometimes.
Of course, At Special days like wedding or funeral or birthday, they rent the buffets to enjoy with many people.
Anyway, last month, although it was not special day, we did many things. we watched movie, went to Japan's sushi restaurant, went shopping at the department. So all of them wore new clothes around here and there.
my mother and aunts are old. but they took grandmother for a walk once a month anywhere. grandma's big smile..When I reminded that time, grandma's big smile still spun through my mind. the image of them is very impressing to me. It waw very very happy day!.

On that day, we were supposed to meet in front of Olympic park station. So we met and arrived at the concert hall. We had no time to eat dinner, so she bought some snacks and 김밥. And we ate at there before starting concert. Upon starting concert, we were excited and shouted. Whenever we were watching stars, we imagined the situation we were dating singers.After coming to an end of concert, we returned home respectively. Its experience was interesting. I went my brother's wedding, not real brother a few months ago.
I have a good relationship with him so I was in the wedding.
We studied together in the same major. He got married as soon as he got a good job. He is 27. I think it's quite early to get married. Anyway in the wedding I met some people I know because
some people are from my major in university so I could enjoy the wedding. There were lots of nice food. The best food was Bossam(boiled pork eaten with a salty sauce and wrapped in greens).
I like that. When I attended the wedding I felt that I wanted to get married. In the wedding most people were neatly dressed. I wore suit. It's normal in the wedding. I attended wedding for a few times. Whenevr I attend wedding I was really happy because I can have lots of food and have as much as I want.

That kind of wedding always feels like I want to get married. After the wedding, I waiting on line for the buffet. I enjoyed the buffet. I ate a lot of meat and fruits. The place was a wedding hall in Seoul.
My feeling was very good because i attended wedding event after a long time.
Just my mother and me attended at the event, many relatives attended the wedding.
We saw many people who i haven't seen a them for ages.
After they saw me, they very surprised about changing my appearance. Because when i was young, i was very fat.
So they were praised me about various aspects.
And we ate a buffet that prepared at wedding hall.
Their wedding ceremony was conducted by the wedding conductor. The ceremony was perfomed solemnly. After the ceremony, we took pictures with many relatives.
Then, the groom wore atuxedo and the bride floated next to the groom, wearing a white gown. Their figure was so beautiful.
Also, some people wore Korean clothes, another people wore formal dress, other people wore casual clothes.
I participate in wedding for my uncle. The wedding is so special, because there’s a worship to God. In the past, my uncle was not chiristian and I couldn’t think that he will hold worship for his wedding, But now he is sincere chiristian and I’m glad to.

I met my pastor, aunt, and another uncle. It was very glad meeting. And I ate restaurant food, for example cake, bul-go-gi, bread, and ricecake so on.
I saw just worship. some people may think It's very boring, But I thought It was very meaningful and priceless thing. So I was very happy and I put hope about my future.
I wore my best closes. Although It just T-shirt and pants, I was student, so I chose it very careful. And most of people put on uniform.

um.. actully i can't remember recent event.. so i am going to tell you about "memorable event"
the event was wedding event. it was about my church sister. she married with other church man. so we did someting to applud. it was like a chorus with a little movement ^&^
so actully it was good though there was a little problem.
and the reason that i choosed that was memorable event was that was the event that we met other church people a lot~ we met many people and ate with them so it was pantastic experience becuz we did manyting including chorus~

ReplyDeleteLast year I attended my cousin's wedding. It was hold in a wedding hall and there were so many people. I met my relaives. The wedding ceremony was a typical and modern wedding event. It was not that special and enjoyable to me. It was so crowded that I couldn't feel relaxed. I just saw their main event at a distant. After the wedding, I went to the restaurant in the hall. The foods are consist of buffet meal so I could eat various foods such as Korean food, breads and sushi. Then the event was finished.
Whenever I go to someone's wedding ceremony, I feel it is too formal. So I hope that wedding events are more enjoyable for people, even for the pride and groom.

ReplyDeleteMy grandfather reached the age of eighty-one last year. Our family had a party to celebrate his 80th birthday last year in hotel buffet. In Korea, important birthdays to note are: the 100th day, the 1st, 20th, 60th, 70th and 80th birthdays.
Grandfather and Grandmother were wearing Green traditional Korean clothes. They look beautiful and decent in Korean clothes.
The buffet offered a plethora of dishes and cuisines from which to choose. Guests should be able to find plenty of food to accommodate their eating preferences in buffet. So, I ate whatever I want. I think he looks too young to be eighty years old. I hope my gradfather will be able to celebrate his 100th birthday.

Recently I attended my niece's first birthday party in 2011, May
That day, I was a soldier, so I had to use a leave.
Niece was born, while I was in army.
I was so surprised to the first birth day.
I thought that the time is so fast!!
Anyway
ON that day, all my relatives were coming in Naju for celebrating birthday.
The event was held in a buffet, so we ate many foods, like a 불고기, 편육 etc.
I saw that she pick up a money(10,000won) and my old sister's smile.
My mother and sister wore a hanbok, other people were dressed casually.
The niece's birthday party was so fun and exciting.

her wedding was held at the Seoul. so I went to Seoul alone.
We are on familiar terms with each other since I was children.
so I felt tremble like my wedding. the wedding have a fancy wedding.
That day, in wedding hall, I met a relative on the my mother's side.
The food was set out buffet style. but I cannot eat many food. because time is very short. so I ate during 20minutes.
The wedding was made up church wedding. so I saw worship, sing a hymn and so on. I wore dot blouse and pink skirt.

Maternal grandmother is sick in the hospital as long as two years ago.
Maternal grandmother is 88 years old.
Her funeral was held in solemnity.
A funeral hall is located in the outside of Jeon-ju.
I felt sad and a queer sensation at a funeral hall.
I was to see my relative after such a long a time in that place.
I ate steamed rice, meat, skate sashimi and so on.
This is typical foods of a funeral hall.
Many people, myself included, get dressed only in black.

Although she's nearly 80, she is still very active.
All of us joined in a merry feast.

when having this news I'm surprised because I didn't think that she would get married early. when I went the wedding I could meet many my relations and then after finishing wedding, I could eat various food. Last year I attended the funeral for the first time. It's my dad's old brother wife's funeral. She younger than my mother. So more people lamented her death. I was so sad. But the most surprising thing is that two days later, everyone was okay.
ReplyDeleteA family member dies, all the relatives gathered around. There are Yukgyejang, rice cakes, nuts, alcohol etc from the funeral. Yukgyejang is main food in the funeral. Almost all of Korea's funeral gives Yukgaejang. The reason I don't know.
Burned in the last day of the funeral the coffin. The original traditional way is to make the grave.I dressed in black.

last winter i attend my cousin's wedding. he and me a big age difference.
but we are close. so I attend the wedding, i'm very happy. in there i see relatives after a long interval. aunt, husband of one's aunt, uncle, sister, brother... I am exceedingly glad. i ate cake, short-rib stew, tteok, fruit ... food is many and various. also delicious. and i saw bride threw the bouquet to her friends. the bride and groom's parent wore hanbok. it is korean traditional clothes. I wore blouse and skirt. most people wore suit , tidy cloth. and people avoid white cloths. because wedding' day, bride is a person of importance. so bride should stand out .

i was so happy because my older sister was finally married, but in other side, I was so sad because my older sister was leaving my family.
I and my dad wearing tuxydo and tie. my mother wearing hanbok(korean traditional clothes). I met my uncle, aunt, neighbors, relative brother, relative sister, etc.
I eaten rice, steak, baking potato, ricecake, orange, banana, etc.

last year. I visited a wedding. It was my Aus friend wedding. The groom was my co-worker at Swift meat factory and he from Aus. The bride was also my co-worker at Swift, and she from Korea. I met them in Aus first time. We are still contact each other. When I came to their wedding I was weired because it is global wedding. The groom's parent came to Korea, and they followed Korean traditional wedding. I met many friends who met in Aus. That day, I wanted to stay more, but I also had another appointment, so I had to move. When the wedding finished, I took a picture fastly. and then I went to another place. The people wore almost suit, but Some of people wore the "Hanbuk".
I couldn't eat anything even drinking water.
however, Although I couldn't eat anything, I felt good because they looked so lovely~

When goes wedding, wear one-piece dress that bought to wear and wore pretty shoes for the first time.

Becuase of our school or job, we have to live respectively. So it is difficult to meet all the family members. So I think whenever we meet that is a special day. On 26 May, all the family members had met. And we had gone to Geumsan in Gyeongsangnam-do. It's very hard to climb a mountain, but I had got to the top of a mountain. I had spent about 2hours to just ascend. But top of a mountain is very beautiful. I think I have never seen it before. After that We had gone to beach and had eaten beef and instant noodle. I was very happy to meet all the family members. Even though just one day it is sweet memories.

ReplyDeleteHi, I'm Joo in class 5. About two months ago, I heard a shocking news. Grandfather had passed away.
ReplyDeleteAt that time, my grandfather was having Alzheimer. So he was in the hospital. I visited him almost everytime when I went to GwangJu. And I didn't thought he was having serious disease. Because of that, the time I heard that he was gone, I couldn't believe it.
I went to funeral next day helding in Chosun Univeristy's funeral hall. Infront of the door, there was uncle looking seriously sad. I saw him for the first time in about 8 years. I wanted to say "hi", but I was awkward to talk with him. So I just got in to the funeral hall.
There was many relatives that I didn't saw for very long time. I was not talkative person when I was young. Even infront of relatives, I was so shy. So I just waited my uncles to talk to me in the first time. Because of my offension, I wasn't able to get close to them. But I decided to change my personality. So when I got there, I tried to talk much. I said hello to everyone brightly. And then I got in to the room where has portrait of my grandpa.
First, I bowed in front of the portrait. And then I put chrysanthemum. It was my first time of doing it. So beside me, mom taught me how to do those.
Though it was really sad situation, the place was not that gloomy. My cousins and I talked how they lived and about there boyfriend and husband things.
The ceremony was not that blue as that I thought. I miss my grandfather. I hope he is still living happily in heaven.

At that time maybe i wore gray suit.
So this experience was flesh and suddenly i thought that someday also i have wedding event with my wife.
If i get my job, i want marry with my girl friend.
But i don't have girl friend and job.... SO SAD ....ㅠㅠ

when i was a high school 3 grade student.
my parent awake me at dawn and they sad talked about my grand father dead my parent left the home as soon as talked to me and i went to the afuneral hall next morning
when i arrived the a funeral hall i was very sad especialy i saw the grand father picture
and i met almost my relative and cousin
i participated in every ceremony until grand father was buried in the grave
every body wore a black suit include me
i regret about i can't play with my grand father well and i want look again my grand father

I went to my cousin's wedding beginning of this year.
the bride, my cousin, was so beautiful. the wedding dress was perfect for her.
I had not seen my counsins for a long time so i was so excited to see them and worried about how they thought about me.
because i have been changed a lot.
I met almost all my mother side of family.
and I met my cousin's new wife. they got married last year but i was not in Korea so I couldn't attend their wedding.
at first, i was so shy and try to hide but later we talked and laughed a lot.
that day i tried to wear formally, so i wore dress and heel. i want to put on flat shoes but my mother told me to wear heels.
wearing a clothes for wedding ceremony is always hard.
after the short wedding ceremory, we ate buffet.
I like buffet, because i can eat whatever i want.
sometimes, the food in the wedding hall is not good, but the food in there was reall yammy.
